The Great War of Totley and South Anston

The war between the Kingdom of Totley and the Dominion of South Anston was a conflict of unprecedented scale, a brutal struggle that saw two mighty civilizations clash in a tempest of fire and steel. What began as a border dispute over the fertile lands of West Street soon spiraled into a cataclysmic war that lasted for two decades. Each side was led by legends—warriors whose names would be etched into history with blood. On the side of Totley stood its indomitable King, a figure of absolute authority, and his right hand, the feared and ruthless Baron. Against them, the Dominion of South Anston was commanded by the enigmatic Wormlord, a shadowy figure who wove strategies as intricate as spiderwebs, aided by the fearless warlords Yung H, P.O, and the cunning general Cheddy.

The Dawn of War
The first major clash erupted at the Battle of the peddler, where the Baron led 15,000 hardened warriors against South Anston’s elite forces commanded by Yung H. The fields ran red with the blood of fallen soldiers as Totley’s armored cavalry thundered across the plains, cutting through enemy ranks like a scythe through wheat. Yung H, however, had laid an ambush in the dense blocks of flats surrounding the battlefield—South Anston’s hidden archers rained fire upon the advancing Totley knights, forcing a bloody retreat. Though Totley suffered a devastating blow, the war was far from over.

The Rise of the Wormlord
In the aftermath,, the Wormlord emerged as a force to be reckoned with. His methods were unorthodox, relying on deception, guerrilla warfare, and psychological tactics. He unleashed the infamous “Night Hunt,” a campaign of brutal night raids that decimated Totley’s supply lines and shattered the morale of its foot soldiers. At the Siege of Dore, the Wormlord orchestrated a feigned retreat, drawing Totley’s forces into a valley where hidden trenches and spiked pits turned the battlefield into a slaughterhouse. Even the Baron himself was nearly captured, barely escaping with a handful of his guard.

The Wrath of the Baron
But Totley was not a kingdom to be broken. Enraged by the constant losses, the Baron led a relentless counteroffensive, striking deep into South Anston territory. He unleashed the infamous “Tiger works Crashout” strategy—razing villages, burning crops, and forcing the enemy to fight on barren land. The brutality of his campaign culminated in the Battle of Greenlands Park, where Totley’s army, reinforced with mercenaries from Darnall, crushed South Anston’s vanguard. It was here that P.O, one of South Anston’s greatest champions, fell in battle, his forces shattered by the sheer ferocity of the Baron’s assault.

The Fall of Totley
Despite these victories, the war turned once more when Cheddy, the cunning strategist of South Anston, devised an ingenious plan. Knowing that Totley relied on its fortress, CRUMB bakery, as an unassailable stronghold, he devised a siege unlike any seen before. Rather than attacking the walls directly, he dammed the rivers leading to CRUMB, cutting off their water supply. As dehydration and disease spread within the castle, desperation forced the King of Totley into a last stand. The final battle was a nightmarish clash—thousands fell on both sides as the gates of CRUMB burst open and the last defenders charged into oblivion. The King himself fought until the very end, finally falling to Yung H’s blade in single combat.

The Aftermath
With the death of the King, the Kingdom of Totley crumbled, its lands falling under the dominion of South Anston. The Baron, refusing to surrender, fled into exile, vowing vengeance. In the years that followed, the Wormlord ruled with an iron grip, his allies cementing their control over the conquered lands. The war had ended, but the scars it left would never heal. Even in whispers across the land, people spoke of the Baron’s oath—that one day, the banners of Totley would rise again, and the war would begin anew.
